When Rob announced he was releasing a new song I was incredibly excited for it as I new it would be amazing! It’s been a while since the last release ‘Scared’ and it’s safe to say the wait for new music was totally worth it.
Rob is a very talented musician and this song did not disappoint! Working along side Ollie Hayes for music and lyrics all I can say is what a come back!
With production from Ollie Hayes, John Mitchell (Outhouse studios) and Nat (Ratcat studios) the very second ‘On Standby’ starts it grabs your attention and what a catchy chorus that has you singing along straight away!
I absolutely love the lyrics “I was caught up in a landslide and now I am rolling with the riptide” and “I don’t want to waste my life, waiting on standby”. I feel that at everyone can relate to this song at some point in there life and it portrays a very important message of don’t just wait for things to come your way go out there and get them as you live your life the way you want too.
I feel this release is the start of a huge era for Chasing Deer and I am looking forward to future releases!
I am glad they are back and I can’t wait to see what is in store for them!
