Ollie Hayes has been no stranger to Totally Music and it’s safe to say I’m extremely excited that he is back with new music!
‘Doesn’t Feel Like Christmas” is a very relatable song about growing up and the magic of Christmas disappearing compared to when you were a child. I feel like it has a lot of emotion in the lyrics and really captures Ollie’s true talent.
The song really makes you sit back and think about how things have changed growing up but how it would be nice to get that spark of magic back.
What I really like about ‘Doesn’t feel like Christmas’ is that the song has a very acoustic feel to it and I think that really helps capture the feeling and thoughts throughout the lyrics .
One set of lyrics that stood out to me most in the song was “Did I just stop believing or does magic fade away” it really made me think that maybe the Christmas magic doesn’t go away as we get older, maybe we just get caught up so much in adult life that we just need to step back and look at the bigger picture and the magic may still be there.
I would highly recommend you checking out “Doesn’t feel like Christmas” and taking some time to think when you do as this song is exceptionally powerful!
